Manolo LozadaMANOLO LOZADA attended simultaneously the New York School of Visual Arts and the Brooklyn Museum Art School for five years studying painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. He was awarded a research fellowship by the Brooklyn school. Exhibits include group shows at the Staaten Island Museum (N.Y.); National Arts Club of America (Gramercy, N.Y.); Terrain Gallery (Long Island N.Y.) solo exhibits at the Townhouse International School (Manhattan, N.Y.); Books, Picture and Things (Manhattan, N.Y.).
Before concentrating in art, Lozada graduated from the University of the Philippines with degrees of Bachelor of Arts (English) and Bachelors of Science in Fisheries, and was recipient of Philippines government scholarship through the Music Promotion Foundation for voice (tenor) study. His work is carried by the Printmaking Collectors Group Ltd. (N.Y. Vol. V, No. 6). This volume also carries works of Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Peter Max, etc. He was among the very few founders of the (Philippines) Amaun Printmaking Workshop in Manhattan where printmaking was promoted, taught and prints exhibited. |
