More than three years into its second revival, the twice dormant Pasig Art Club has been steadily regaining its loosened foothold in the realms of art and civic consciousness of Pasig City. The progenies of the pioneering club members led by Pyt Santos forged together a kinship that saw the club membership expand and grow in its multi-faceted activities which have become less of mandated tasks and more of artistic experiences.
Today the brush has been passed on to a new stewardship. The next three years will hopefully be a continuum of the painted canvass that was began three years ago. Aside from artistic development and fellowships, the club aims to go beyond its boundaries in terms of interaction with other art clubs, art exhibitions outside the gallery wall of the city museum, and heritage documentation through its involvement with the diocesan commission of Pasig City for cultural heritage preservation of the church, monuments and sites. The members also set up their easel and trained their sightlines in 2007 when Pasig Art Club celebrates its golden anniversary with a grand art exhibit.
Going beyond boundaries. It is in this framework that Arte Pasigueno is born. And it is through this quarterly newsletter that Pasig Art Club will be imaging it’s projects, activities and manifestations into the realm of art and civic consciousness of the people of Pasig City and beyond.
