Pasig Art Club is one of the oldest collective of artists not only in the City of Pasig but throughout the country. Established in 1957, PAC’s legacy continues by honing the innate talents of the Pasigueno youth through cultural and artistic projects.
In line with this, the City Government of Pasig collaborates with PAC in facilitating separate On the Spot Painting Competitions for the four different mediums:
1) February 24, 2014, Oil Pastel – shall be open to elementary students exclusively
2) February 26,2014,Colored Pencil – shall be open to high school students exclusively
3) February 27, 2014, Watercolor – shall be open to college students exclusively
4) February 28, 2014, Acrylic – for the top 25 high school and top 25 college entrants
Entitled “Kulay Anyo ng Munting Paraiso”, the entries should depict the Filipino children at play in parks and playgrounds. The venue will be at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig.
The painting competition shall be open to elementary, high school and college students within the City of Pasig. All winning artworks will be displayed in the new Pasig City Children’s Hospital. Kindly review the enclosed contest mechanics for more information.

“KULAY ANYO NG MUNTING PARAISO”
ON-THE-SPOT PAINTING COMPETITION.
The objective of the competition is to tap the innate talents and artistic skills of the Pasigueno youth by encouraging outstanding achievements in the field of visual arts through awards and recognition. The theme of the competition is the Filipino child in a park or playground setting. The winning artworks will be displayed at the new Pasig City Children’s Hospital.
MECHANICS:
1. The On-the-Spot (OTS) art competition shall be open to all elementary, high school and college students currently enrolled in public and private schools within the City of Pasig.
2. There shall be separate on-the-spot competitions dates for the four different mediums:
a) February 24, 2014 - Oil Pastel (OTS #1) – Shall be open to elementary students exclusively.
b) February 26, 2014 - Colored Pencil (OTS #2) – Shall be open to high school students exclusively.
c) February 27, 2014 - Watercolor (OTS #3) – Shall be open to college students exclusively.
d) February 28, 2014 - Acrylic (OTS #4) – Shall be for the top 25 high school and top 25 college entrants.
Venue for OTS #1-4 shall be at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig located on Alcalde Jose St, Kapasigan, Pasig City
3. All art materials for the different medium categories shall be supplied for free by the competition organizers for the production of artworks.
4. All winning entries will be displayed at the Pasig City Children’s Hospital.
5. All entries shall be the property of the City of Pasig.
REGISTRATION:
ELEMENTARY and HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS must register at DepEd District Office on or before February 20, 2014. COLLEGE STUDENTS registration is on the day of competition. The first 50 slots shall be given to students on a first come first registered basis. Confirmation for the list of participants will start at 6:00am for the OTS medium and dates listed above. Distribution of materials will be done after the official tour of the Pasig Children’s Hospital which will start at 7:00am.
THE CONTEST PROPER:
1. THE ENTRIES MUST BE DONE “ON THE SPOT”
Participants may start at 7:30 am right after the briefing about the competition. Artworks caught half done/ done before 7:00 am on the day of competition will not be accepted
2. Works must follow the competition’s artworks specifications for the different OTS mediums. Entries maybe landscape or portrait in orientation.
3. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT PARTICIPANT WILL BE ACCEPTED - Students who will submit more than one entry under different names will be disqualified from the competition.
4. Entries must explore the theme “Kulay Anyo ng Munting Paraiso” and should depict the Filipino children at play in garden and park settings:
a. At play with land and aquatic animals
b. Playing popular Filipino games
c. Emulating Philippine folktale heroes
d. Enjoying Philippine legends and fables
5. Collages, stickers, paste in prints, photo canvas and other likes are not allowed.
6. All entries must be new paintings, original in composition and the concept must be in context with the theme specified.
7. All entries must be properly labeled at the back, with the name of the artist, title and size of the piece, medium, name of school, year level and contact number.
SUBMISSION:
All entries must be submitted not later than 3:00 PM on the specified OTS dates. Entries must be properly labeled at the back.
All participants will receive a blank artwork tag to be filled out during the contest proper with the following information: Name of the artist, title, medium and size of the piece; name of school, grade/year level and contact number.
Artworks submitted after the said cut off time will not be accepted.
JUDGING:
1. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
30% CREATIVE USE OF MEDIUM
30% EXPRESSION AND TECHNIQUE
40% ORIGINALITY AND ARTISTIC PERCEPTION AND MODE OF INTERPRETATION
100% THEME TOTAL
2. JUDGES MAY DECIDE NOT TO AWARD THE PRIZES IF ENTRIES DO NOT MEET THE ARTISTIC CRITERIA AND COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS.
3. ALL DECISION OF THE BOARD OF JUDGES SHALL BE FINAL.
AWARDING:
ANNOUNCEMENT AND AWARDING OF PRIZES SHALL BE DONE RIGHT AFTER THE JUDGING. - ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION. –
